Hornby Youth Forum

 

On 29 March 2006 over 50 people attended a forum called “What’s happening for young people in Hornby?”.

 

The invitation to the forum was generated by the Child, Youth and Family Youth Justice staff based at the Hornby Heartlands Centre and described the opportunity as follows:

 

“Hornby Community Forum for parents, professionals and community people associated with young people aged 13 – 17 years

This will be an opportunity to: -

 

-          Tell about the service you or your organisation is providing for youth and their families;

-          Hear about other youth services available in Hornby

-          Identify the gaps in services

-          Discuss how we can work together to enhance services”

 

The forum worked through several structured small group-work exercises to identify service gaps and potential actions to enhance services for youth.
